Bag Ladies are In the Bag from Cat Patches

The bag ladies are not intoxicated...just to be clear. But they are finished. I had the most faithful assistants working with me to bring this to a close.

Sadie...I need you! I've been working on this quilt binding for hours, and I need some relief.

Okay, Smitty. Just let me know when you want me to take over. I'll be right here.

We're almost finished, Sadie. I'll just rest my nose right here. Pawssibly, I can hold on to the end.

When I'd turned the last corner and finished it off, I laid ...

Lots of Sewing from ... Cat Patches

With rain falling for most of the day, it was very nearly sewing all day long. I was brave and did a little housework too. It allowed me to sew without guilt. The morning's slow stitching had me getting a start on the next plate for Pieces of the Past.

It's a small piece, and so I expect it won't take long to finish it. When I was ready, I did my housekeeping chore, and then rewarded myself with some slow stitching around the binding for the Bag Ladies. I've turned the second corner now.

Hot Harvest from Cat Patches

We had very warm weather yesterday. Toward the end of the afternoon, the temperature outside was 98°F., which is very hot for our hill. I can only imagine how people in the valley were suffering. We're expecting more hot weather today, but this morning's sunrise was beautiful. I can't recall seeing raking light from the clouds like this before.

While I was out, I walked all the way around the house, passing by Smitty along the way. He loves the warm weather and spends most of his time out on the catio.

Also, I passed by ...

August, Actually, and a Reveal from ... Cat Patches

Welcome to the last full month of summer. The year seems tediously slow, and surprisingly fast all at the same time. My mind has me stuck back in March when our winter trip grew weird with toilet paper and hand sanitizer shortages, and folks giving one another a wide berth as the virus spread across the country. We ended up cutting our trip short and heading for home. The months since then have passed in a blur. Speaking of blur:

The weather cooled off some yesterday, and we were able to shut off the A/C and open some windows ...

Teal Mini Swap from Baby Boomer Quilting Bee

The annual Teal Mini Swap, hosted by EvaPaige Quilt Designs, is their way to help raise awareness of ovarian cancer during the months of July through September.  There is a limit of 500 participants over the United States and Canada, who make and swap either a mug rug or miniature quilt.  From the $15 registration fee, $10 is directly donated to OCRFA, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.

For 2019, Art Gallery Fabrics (AGF) donated the beautiful fabric.  The swappers were required to use this print somewhere in their project (see above).  Lucky for me, I have a HUGE collection ...
